STATE ROUTE 85 HIGHWAY MODIFICATIONS DESIGN

Description:

The State Route 85 Highway Modifications Project was part of the Measure “A” Highway Improvement Program, which involved the design and development of highway improvements and modifications for major commute corridors in Santa Clara County. TRANSMETRICS was responsible for the design of the storm drainage system on Route 85, from Good Samaritan Drive to Leigh Avenue, including the area known as “Little Branham.” The alignment of the storm drainage pipe proved a difficult undertaking due to the multiplicity of public agencies with design interests and the problem with a high water table. Extensive coordination and collaboration resulted in establishing the drainage pipe on the eastern section of Route 85. The work required the preparation of five sheets of drainage plans and eleven sheets of drainage profiles.
