BART Silicon Valley Berryessa Extension (SVBX) – Project Management Oversight

The SVBX project is a 10.2-mile extension of BART rail transit system from Warm Springs Station in Fremont to Berryessa Road in San Jose with an intermediate station adjacent to existing VTA Montague light rail station in Milpitas. The SVBX project is under construction on former Union Pacific right of way.

Transmetrics was a part of the Project Management Oversight Consultant (PMOC) team on behalf of the Federal Transit Administration.

Transmetrics’ team was responsible for oversight of the civil design and construction activities (including change orders), as well as safety and quality assurance/ quality control programs. Transmetrics’ task included a detailed assessment of the SVBX Quality Assurance/ Quality Control program; development of PMO monthly reports, written analyses, recommendations, and professional opinions to support and assist in oversight activities; participation in various management and construction progress meetings, quality and safety site walks, site tours, and other meetings with key team members representing all aspects of the project.
